Roberto is a Director at Transparency International (TI) and the convener of a new investigative journalists and anticorruption advocate’s network hosted by TI. He is the Director of the International Anti-Corruption Conference Series (IACC). Gathering more than 1,800 people from an average of 140 countries the IACC is the world’s leading independent platform that brings together all those who are interested or working against corruption and towards achieving social justice. By connecting agents of change the IACC does not only look at abuse of power, but also its connection to other critical global issues such as environment and climate change, the banking and financial industry, social justice and human rights, impunity of corruption, and the fight against poverty. Roberto is a pioneer of ground-breaking global initiatives that engage people and experts from all walks of life to devise new cross sectorial solutions against corruption. Most recently he has launched the IACC Young Journalists Network; the Global Anti-Corruption game Changers platform which supports initiatives like the first ever Social Entrepreneurs against Corruption competition. In association with various independent journalism and documentary networks Roberto is currently designing new initiatives that aim foster cooperation between investigative journalists, film and documentary directors and social justice advocates. Roberto holds post graduate degrees in political sciences and development and has over 18 years of international experience in the fields of governance, social justice, advocacy and communications.
