Workshop: Hostile Environments & Journalism Safety

Log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Journalism safety is no longer just the preserve of those deploying to war zones and disasters. From the threat of domestic terror attacks to the risks faced by those covering protests to the scourge of online harassment, the front lines are now closer to home.

This scenario-based interactive workshop delivered by experts from the International News Safety Institute's (INSI) will introduce ways that managers and media staff can better prepare themselves and their newsrooms to deal with the physical, emotional and digital threats to journalism safety.

We'll explore how to:

  • Report safely in dangerous situations
  • Manage a crisis through effecting contingency planning
  • Protect your organisation from hacking and provide good online security to your employees
Organized in partnership with the International News Safety Institute's (INSI)
